At FuseTech, we manufacture our smooth surface Chromium carbide weld overlay (CCO) plates using a proprietary submerged arc welding (SAW) process. Unlike conventional open-arc welding, which typically results in surface cracks and ridges due to natural stress relief, our process produces a crack-free, smooth finish with superior structural integrity and more predictable wear performance.
By carefully controlling welding parameters, such as heat input, travel speed, and cooling rate, we achieve uniform carbide distribution throughout the overlay layer. This results in a strong metallurgical bond, minimal internal stress, and consistent quality from plate to plate.
